Inversion Ankle Sprain Taping (Rigid Tape)

Step 1 (Anchor Tape):

- Apply the anchor tape around the shin
- Ensure no tension

Step 2 (Stir-ups)

- Ankle joint positioned at 90 degree angle
- Apply stir-up tape starting from the anchor tape on the medial side, move around the heel region and end tape over the anchor tape on the lateral (outer) side
- Repeat stir-ups (up to 3 layers) with each tape over-lapping the other
- Keep tape within the heel region and avoid taping the medial arch

Step 3 (Heel Locks):

- Ankle joint positioned at 90 degree angle
- Start with tape facing the outside of the ankle and run tape around to the back of the ankle (pass the tendon of the heel) and continue to lay the tape over the front of the ankle joint, ending over the anchor tape on the medial side of the ankle
- Repeat heel lock 2-3x
- End taping by securing loose ends with another anchor tape over the first anchor tape
